Evolution Homecare appoints new head

Evolution Homecare, the newest member of the Celesio Group, has appointed Jo Shaw to the post of Managing Director.

Shaw, a qualified pharmacist has held senior management and board-level positions in the homecare delivery sector for the past ten years, most recently as Sales and Marketing director for Clinovia (now BUPA Home Healthcare). She joins the company at a time when the market is evolving and looks set for expansion.

On her appointment, Shaw said: “I am delighted to be taking up this position as it has all the challenge and variety that I was looking for.”

Her challenge is to link to other strategic business units within the Celesio UK group, who have common customers and core competencies to present a seamless service proposition to the groups clients and customers, where there are opportunities for integrated approaches
She wants the company to provide a fully-integrated offer for out-of-hospital patient care and focal to that, she stresses, is putting robust quality management systems and clinical governance framework into place where there is interface with internal partners within Celesio and external partners such as suppliers, customers and patients.

Shaw comments, “All in all we want to offer a broad scope to the patient, focusing on flexibility, locality and convenience. We must customise; the reason many people take medicines is so that they can keep fit, active and keep on working.” we can’t have one size fits all.

Evolution Homecare supplies and administers ambient and chilled critical medicines to patients at home. It has a team of specialist nurses and specially trained drivers that work in parallel with a patient services team to keep in daily contact with patients.
